What if “twice as good for half as much” is the wrong exchange rate?

You learned to be prepared, respectable, and hard to dismiss. You also learned to use your work ethic and competence as armor to survive in these spaces.

That strategy may have worked, but you’re still:

  • Questioning whether the next level is worth its cost
  • Deciding whether to climb, pivot, stay, or leave
  • Wondering how to balance career and the rest of your life

The goal is not to strive less. It’s to decide what your ambition serves.

What coaching helps you do

Space to unpack what you want and choose what comes next.

01

Clarify what you want

Uncover your values, vision, and what matters to you, distinguishing your own desires from inherited expectations and survival tactics.

02

Weigh the exchange

Consider what you are willing to give, what you need to negotiate, and what you are no longer willing to sacrifice to live the life you want.

03

Choose with intention

Turn your reflection into a plan to stay, leave, pivot, advance, or recalibrate.

How I coach

I bring a blend of joy, championing, and challenge to my coaching.

My clients often know what they want; they need space and freedom from judgment to hear themselves clearly.

I believe we can do serious work without taking ourselves too seriously. Joy, humor, and finding the silver linings are part of how we stay resourced and resilient.

I’m also clear that racism and anti-Blackness are real. Stereotypes and biases are real. My coaching acknowledges these barriers without allowing them to define the full range of what is possible.

Why Dion

I learned how to make myself valuable. I rarely asked what being valuable cost me.

I’ve managed million-dollar budgets, served in Chief of Staff and Director-level roles, and led organizational change across nonprofit, government, and tech.

I was often among the youngest and one of the few Black people in the room. Yet even as the most Black-excellent version of myself, I still felt stuck.

Coaching gave me space to question who I was without letting titles, proximity to power, or the need to overcome stereotypes drive my decisions.

I didn’t become less ambitious or hard-working. I gained clarity and choice about how I wanted to live.

Today, I create that same reflective, joyful, and challenging space for Black professionals deciding how they want to strive, lead, and create impact.

I’m a trained coach through the Co-Active Training Institute, with 4 years and 250+ hours coaching inside companies, from entry-level to C-suite. I’ve also spent 12 years building large-scale learning, culture, and leadership development programs.

Working together

One-to-one coaching to clarify what you want and choose what comes next.

This 12-week coaching engagement is designed to help you decide whether to stay, pivot, advance, or make work less central to your definition of success.

This work may fit when you are:

  • Facing a meaningful career or leadership decision
  • Repeating a pattern of perfectionism or extreme ownership
  • Questioning whether what you’re striving for still reflects what matters to you
  • Ready for challenge, not only reassurance
